"The wisdom of the wise, and the experience of ages, may be preserved by quotation." -- Benjamin Disraeli

This is a space for inspiration, things I like, and the occasional strand of intelligence and belief. Sometimes, a kitten will slip in.

AHHHHH!! I love Nikki coming up on my dashboard! This was an awesome feature on Refinery29 about First Rite designer Nikki Garcia’s abode. Always good to see a familiar face travel the interwebz.

We debut a new font this week.
For our Person of the Year print salute to The Protester, the TIME editors wanted something special. Sometimes, that means finding the perfect Sans-serif. For the first time since the magazine’s redesign in 2007, TIME has added a new font – Franklin ITC Pro Thin. It’s just one of many details that makes this issue memorable to us.
Welcome to the family, Franklin Thin. We can’t wait to see more of you.

one of my favorite bookstores is bibliohead in hayes valley. it sells new, used, and rare books and has so much charm stacked into a tiny little place. last year, i bought a lady into fox, written by david garnett in 1922. what seems like a silly story - written in all seriousness, mind you - about a woman who literally turns into a fox on an evening stroll with her new husband is really a wistful tale about the ways in which the people we love and think we know can’t help but change. the sentiment about people’s interactions with each other resonates closer to home than one might think.
it’s a little bit heartbreaking, but nothing a little tea, time, and macarons can’t help.
